SNÆLDA - Songwriting class

Snælda is an artist development program from the 101derland studio. The focus in the workshop is getting students familiar in working on Ableton live as well as getting them to know all the basic work that happens within the studio.

The mentors are known figures in the Icelandic music scene, Jófríður (JFDR), and brothers, Logi Pedro and Unnsteinn Manuel.

The main aim of the program is to make the students self-sufficient within the studio, as well as guiding them in music composition on Ableton live. The practical side of the music business will also be introduced.

Students are asked to bring computer and headphones. It would be great if they have Ableton live software but it is not required.

Logi Pedro was born in 1992 in Portugal and moved to Iceland in 1995. From 2006 to 2016 he was a member of one of the leading Icelandic bands, Retro Stefson. Logi Pedro joined a new band in 2013, Young Karin, who has played on both sides of the Atlantic on various musical festivals. The band was awarded the Icelandic Music Prize as the 2014 newcomer album for their first EP.

Logi has produced and arranged for various musicians, for example Gus Gus, Skítamórall, Sturla Altas and Emmsjé Gauta.

Logi runs the record label Les Fréres Stefson alongside with his brother, Unnsteinn Manuel. On their roster are artists such as Floni, Birnir, Sturla Atlas and Joey Christ. Logi has been on a consultant panel for EBU Eurovision, Iceland Airwaves and The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (RÚV).
